The Mills Novelty Company was very busy in the 1920’s, Incorporated of Chicago was once a leading manufacturer of coin-operated machines, including slot machines, jukeboxes and vending machines.  Between about 1905 and 1930, the company’s products included the Mills Violano-Virtuoso and its predecessors, celebrated machines that automatically played a violin and, after about 1909, a piano. By 1944, the name of the company had changed to Mills Industries, Incorporated.

This particular machine is a double eagle slot machine gum dispenser in excellent condition and has been restored by our in house restoration experts.  A slot machine in average working condition would appraise at $2,500.00 in 2020.  I am predicting a downward value trend on these historical objects as thousands of these items are returned to the marketplace with the baby boomers downsizing.

This machine was actually considered a gum dispenser to circumvent the law and prohibition at the time.  Al Capone and gangsters of all types would have been big customers to businesses like the Mills Novelty Company.

This particular slot machine is priced at $6,000.00 because of its rarity and condition.
